Robert J. Cho, 59, forgot his wallet on bus E07 while traveling from Nguyen Huu Huan Street to Lieu Giai Street on Oct. 20.
After he realized its loss, he reached out to the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism for assistance.
The department forwarded the information to the crime prevention team at the Hoan Kiem Ward Police.
At 8 p.m. the same day, the wallet, all its contents intact, including two credit cards, a driver’s license, and other personal documents was returned to him at the bus depot in Tay Mo.
He thanked the police for their quick assistance.
Officials said there was smooth coordination, which helped the tourist get back his belongings quickly.
