Vietnamese payment provider AppotaPay presented transaction management solutions for retail and food and beverage businesses at VIFS 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City, alongside reports on consumer spending trends.
AppotaPay showcased its payment solutions at the Vietnam International Franchise Show (VIFS) 2026, held from Oct. 29 to 31 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City.
The event brought together domestic and international brands, franchisors, restaurant operators and retail technology providers.
AppotaPay also introduced two reports examining purchasing power and consumer spending in Vietnam's retail and food and beverage (F&B) sectors, drawing on official statistics and third-party research to identify trends relevant to business planning for 2027.
The retail report said sales of retail goods in Vietnam rose 12.8% year-on-year in the first nine months of 2026. An InsightAsia survey of 1,236 consumers aged 18-45 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City found that 49% considered fast checkout and payment "very important" when choosing a convenience store.
The F&B report highlighted a gap between consumer spending intentions and business expansion plans. About 35% of surveyed consumers expected to reduce F&B spending in the second half of 2026, while 52% of surveyed businesses planned to expand.
The findings highlighted the importance of monitoring consumer demand and operating costs when planning business expansion.
Payment solutions for physical and online businesses
At the exhibition, AppotaPay demonstrated services designed to manage transactions across physical stores and online channels.
Its SmartPOS terminals accept domestic and international bank cards, e-wallets and QR code payments through a single device. Businesses can use them at checkout counters or restaurant tables, track transactions by store or shift, and manage employee access.
The AppotaPay Partner platform provides centralized revenue and transaction monitoring across multiple outlets, along with automated payment reconciliation.
For online businesses, the company offers a payment gateway for websites and mobile applications, as well as Payment Link, which allows merchants to collect payments for orders placed through social media and messaging platforms.
Other features include automatic payment notifications and virtual accounts that help identify and reconcile incoming bank transfers.
AppotaPay also introduced QR Global, a cross-border payment service for businesses serving international visitors.
The service supports QR payments through selected banking applications and e-wallets from China, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. Customers can scan merchants' QR codes using supported applications from their home markets, while merchants receive settlements in Vietnamese dong after automatic currency conversion.
Integrated into AppotaPay's SmartPOS and SoftPOS solutions, QR Global provides an additional payment option for retailers, restaurants and hospitality businesses serving international customers.
A member of Appota Group, AppotaPay provides payment acceptance, collection, disbursement and transaction management services.
The company says it serves more than 600 business customers and supports around 30,000 transaction points nationwide. It is licensed by the State Bank of Vietnam to provide payment intermediary services.
In March 2026, AppotaPay received PCI DSS Level 1 certification for the fourth consecutive year, meeting international payment card data security requirements.
